About

In 1986, at the age of 5, I was given a Christmas gift by my Grandfather that has changed my life forever – my first computer, a Tandy 1000. In those days, my favorite things to do on the computer included Solitare (although I rarely won), recording my thoughts in the password protected diary (which ended up with several “editions” as I frequently forgot the password), drawing/coloring in some sort of Barbie software program, and playing Hangman.

These days, while my computers have changed, I still enjoy doing much of the same. When I find the time, I still love playing computer games. My tech thoughts are recorded in this blog, and I create/design/play using Adobe Photoshop CS3. I’m an avid digital photographer.

My technology interests include finding new ways to integrate technology into secondary classrooms, helping educators to overcome their fears about technology, and getting them excited to try all of the new things that are out there. I love new gadgets of any kind, particularly new TabletPCs and mobile phones. My current project is developing a plan to improve high school professional development technology programs and is the focus of my doctoral dissertation.

I love comments and e-mail so please feel free to write!

    Monica,
You sound like your wealth of knowledge is endless. I will have to pick your brain when I am lost and need help! Thanks in advance. How do you find the time to constantly explore “new” ways???
